Troy, last time you said, “There are people out there who are not having the challenges you are having. Find them, copy them.” OK, so how do I do that? I don’t know who they are or where they are.
Well, that’s going to be a challenge then. And unfortunately for you, this is a bigger issue than you realize. Have your ever heard the phrase, “Your network is your net worth.”? Yep, that’s the ticket right there. Your network is not just a place where you get referrals. In fact, the higher you climb on the ladder of success, the less you’ll rely on your network for referrals and the more you’ll rely on your network for information to solve problems and make decisions.
If you’re not sure where to find people who are not having the problems you are having…it’s time to find a new network. I’m a big fan of the EO organization. I have a lot of clients who have been or are a part of that organization. I’ve also basically built my entire network and most of my business through relationships I gained by being part of a BNI chapter. That’s a huge network.
There are three types of people you really need to have as a part of your inner circle network in your life in order to make it much much easier to move a level up in success. I call these the Holy Trinity of Success…
1) a Business Coach. Duh!!! This is the one who will likely know you better than you know you crucial for decision making, problem solving, implementation of new skills, keeping you focused on the right things at the right time (at least that’s how I like to do it.)
2) Mentor. Someone who’s been around the block and can give you some experiential wisdom.
And 3) your Peer Support. These need to be mixed with a few people farther along and a few people not as far along as you are, and from a mix of industry. Your peer support could include a mastermind group/team as well.
If you want to improve your net worth you have to be improving your network. Do that and you’ll find the people who are not having the same problems you are having.
